There are also ferry’s leaving to travel to the islands, this includes Heron Island. There are many things to do and see in the Gladstone area, it is also the gateway to the Great Barrier Reef and there are many charter boats in the area. Gladstone is known as the Port City and has one of the busiest harbours in Australia. You can soak in the ocean breeze while sitting in our unique lounges, they are made from solid slabs of Blue Gum and are held together very securely using railway spikes. Four out of the five rooms open onto the veranda, morning, where you can relax with a drink, afternoon or evening. All of the rooms have very comfortable Queen size beds with the finest Egyptian cotton linen. The Queenslander was built this way to keep it cooler in summer. A Queenslander is a traditional Australian icon high set building found all throughout Queensland, most Queenslanders have high ceilings and surrounding verandas.
